Born and raised in New Zealand, Dan is a kiwi through and through! He currently lives in Orange County with his wife, 3 wonderful children, horses, and too many dogs to count! His journey began when he moved to Canada where he was a K9 handler. Over the years his journey has blossomed into training horses, family dogs, service dogs (which have a special place in Dan’s heart), and he has even been involved in sport dog handling.
Dan style is a little different and involves luring, play and positive reinforcement. He believes that every pet can be of service to its family when they are trained proactively (instead of reactively). Unique to his style, he is good at letting a dog think and make a positive choice as opposed to other styles that just reinforce a particular trick. He also likes to see them learn useful tasks that are traditionally taught to service animals.
This style is not a one size fits all – it is tailored to reduce stress and anxiety for the family and then aimed at enjoying and having fun with your dog in ways that aid them fitting into your daily routines.
